DIY natural disinfectant with vinegar and thyme
- Fresh thyme
- Glass spray bottle
You've probably noticed that more and more people opt for organic cleaning products to avoid hazardous chemicals. Today I will show you how to make a natural disinfectant which is as effective as commercially-made ones. Let's get started!
Step 1: The solution
What you need to make the spray: fresh thyme, vinegar and water. In a standard-sized spray bottle, add 1 part vinegar, 3 part water and a few thyme leaves.
To prevent vinegar from reacting with plastic, use a glass spray bottle.
Step 2: Clean the surface first
Now the solution is ready. Before disinfecting, make sure that the surface is already cleaned. Next, shake the disinfectant thoroughly (to ensure that every ingredients are well mixed) and spray the surface.
Step 3: Wait and wipe
Let the spray sit for 5-10 minutes, then wipe the disinfected surface with a clean cloth.
Step 4: Alternatives
You can also replace thyme with 5-10 drops of tea tree or lemon essential oil, or any other scent that you prefer.
