Description

Keeping your earrings organized and visible is the best way to make sure you'll always

find the pair you're looking for. Plus, keeping it visual will also help you wear all of them instead of always putting on the same pair of earrings. Would it be nice to make you beautiful jewelry part of your decor? This DIY earring holder is so cute and easy to make that you won't believe until you see the step by step. It works for hook and stud earring. And you personalize it to fit as many earrings as you have and be able to add the hoop earrings at the bottom.

Step 1: Make a grid on the wood

Depending on the size of the wood you're using, create a grid leaving approximately 2,5 cm distance between the lines. I've also left a border of 2,5 cm to have a better finish but if you have many hoop earrings, I'd recommend making a line close to the bottom edge of the wood to be able to hang them.

Step 2: Drill the holes for the earring storage

Using a drill bit that is about the same thickness as the earrings, drill a hole at every intersection of the lines. Yes, it takes a lot of time to do it, but it's worth it.

Step 3: Sand the surface to remove imperfections

Sand it lightly just to remove any imperfections caused by the drill.

Step 4: Paint earring display

At this point, you can be creative and paint it with just one color, leave it natural, make a diagonal shape like mine, organic shapes, etc… Just don't put too many details on your painting so you can see your earrings. Some of the paint may go inside the holes, so after the paint is dry, take a paperclip and poke through the ink to reopen the hole.

Step 5: Add the chain on the back

If you're doing a large earring holder you may need to make this step a little different to make sure it's secured. But since mine is really small I just attached the chain using multipurpose glue. You can use a frame hook instead but I think the chain is what adds an extra charm to this earring storage.

Step 6: Organize your earrings and hang it on the wall

You can hang the earring holder on a command hook or a nail and it'll look great as part of your bedroom decor!
