Description

Have you ever been through the situation where you want to charge your phone but there are no surfaces for you to leave it while it charges? I'm sure you did. We've all been there. But, there's a simple DIY phone rack to solve this problem. With simple craft materials, you can make a phone holder to hang your phone anywhere while charging. You can easily carry this phone hanger with you and plug your phone anywhere without worrying about finding a plug next to a table.

Step 1: Get a plastic bottle

The plastic bottle will give the structure for your phone holder so the fabric doesn't rip. I'm using an empty shampoo bottle which I'll remove the label.

Step 2: Mark the size of your charger

To be able to pass the phone holder through the charger, mark the size of it in the plastic. Then, outline it about 0,5cm from the top and sides and add about 5 cm at the bottom.

Step 3: Cut the plastic

Using the stiletto cut the plastic following the lines. So you should have a rectangle shape with a hole about the same size and shape as your phone charger.

Step 4: Mark the felt

Position the plastic piece you cut and your phone over the felt to measure the size of your phone holder. Your phone should be placed about 3 cm below the hole of the charger on the plastic piece. You'll cut two pieces of felt following the left shape (with the plastic structure) and one rectangle with the same height and width of the left shape (without the plastic structure).

Step 5: Glue the plastic structure of the phone holder

Using the multi-purpose glue make a sandwich with the two pieces of felt and the plastic structure. This is going to be the back of the phone holder.

Step 6: Add the front of the phone holder

On the felt rectangle, add some glue on the sides and bottom of the fabric. Then glue it on top of the back piece of the phone holder. To make mine extra cute I folded the top of the rectangle about 2 cm down.

Step 7: Add embellishments

With the base of your phone holder done you can add any embellishments you like such as beads or details with another colour of felt. Let the glue dry following the instructions.

Step 8: DIY phone holder

To hang your phone while it charges, place the charger inside the hole, plug it on the wall, and place your phone inside the pocket.
