When looking for ways to turn a London home into a temple of modern space, Luis Hernandez of Lewis and Co, provides us with an excellent example of just that; through clever use of bespoke furniture, natural finish and bright open spaces in this open planned house, he creates a charming yet intimate atmosphere that would leave anyone feeling the need to kick off their shoes.
The bespoke chairs here are a great feature, letting the colour of the fabric behind come through, giving them almost maritime appeal and also providing the illusion of comfort throughout the day—not just with an evening sherry.
The stone fireplace adds a unique element to the sitting room: like an eruption of stone through the centre of the house and, again, the light colour of the stone doesn't disrupt this area's day time appeal.
The open plan design not only gives the lounge a spacious feel but also emits daylight from all around the house adding to the fluency of the design.
This beautiful wooden wash basin is a perfect example of some of the fantastic pieces of bespoke furniture in the Lewis and Co. portfolio. The mix of dark and light stain on the wooden surfaces next to the bright pastel and warming colours of wall, lighting and decorations expends a real feeling of nature and tranquillity.
This bedroom design is appealing in more ways than one. The simplistic bed and night stand style chime in well with the wooden flooring and the green backdrop of the outside. To add to this the stark contrast between the whites, blacks and tertiaries disembogue that natural theme, showcased in other areas of the house design. A serene setting morning and night.
The wooden structure surrounding the sliding doors and windows here contribute to the lighting of this room in a fantastic way. The position of the sun, combined with the position of the doors and windows, will greatly alter the ambient lighting of this room throughout the day. The high celling and seating area will extend in promoting how the room looks too.
Despite the open and airy initial look of the design, the room also gives off a very cosy feeling; an appeal that you could accede to all year round.
In contrast to the above, this cinema room extends all its features to the evening. The lack of natural light demonstrated here is the perfect reason to make this lounge fit for evenings on the sofa, watching a film.
A stuffed set of bookshelves ushers in a homely feel immediately; combined with a good glass of wine and your pick of them, the tensions of the day would simply disappear.
