There are certain things that can be found in any kitchen—utensils, crockery and cutlery included. That's all well and good, but how many of them are fun and entertaining to use? How many of them exceed a singular function, adding a completely different dimension to, for example, how you peel potatoes? Sometimes, it is nice to turn a regular, monotonous activity into something exciting, especially since the daily grind can often times leave us uninspired and lacklustre.

If you have children, it is nice to educate them on safety and flair (if you have it!) in the kitchen. Taught from a young age, children can develop refined tastes, and err to healthy food when the options are presented. Therefore, today on homify, we have some vivacious and bright kitchen accessories for both adults and grown ups to have a little more fun in one of the most important rooms in a home. Take a look…

Magnettafel für die Küche

So, you have been accumulating more and more tools and utensils in the kitchen over the past few years. The drawers are now full, the cupboards are bursting and the kitchen ledge has objects teetering on the edge—sound familiar? We understand, this is a common predicament for many and it for this reason, that a magnetic board for the kitchen wall was invented. Given that most kitchen utensils are steel, you can attach pots, pans, crockery and even steel storage boxes to this board for an added sense of fun, and of course, practicality!

It also means that salad and meal preparation is easy as ever, now that your favourite herbs and spices are on hand. The wall can be equipped not only with oregano, but rosemary and mint—basically anything that can be potted, can be sprouted! Mussels are certainly not everyone's favourite dish, but many people can't get enough of it of these tasty seafood treats. For those who have difficulty steaming their mussels for a spaghetti marinara or moules frites as standard dishware won't do, this clever ensemble makes not only preparation easier, but is visually stunning too. The design opens up to reveal two pots; the top can be used to store discarded shells, while the bottom half can continue to marinate away in the juice of white wine and saltiness. As with anything, colour is a matter of taste. Therefore, it is possible to find this nifty little invention in a selection as wide as a rainbow.
