Life on the water is much more diverse and luxurious than it was once upon a time. Gone are the days when a simple wooden tugboat was the be all and end all of our desires. Right now, there is a new star on the block; and it goes by the name of luxury yacht design. Inside these yachts, we see a combination of elements and professions that were not evidenced together before. Interior design, fine fabrics and sleek modern design come together to complement the current advances in maritime technology. Nowadays, the internal layout of a yacht is just as important as its stunning exterior, perhaps even more so. As lucky guests or owners, the experience you have inside is really what counts.
Today on homify, we are going to take you on a tour of a boat that hosts a unique combination of expertise from two incredible professionals. You will soon see, when the minds of these two leaders are put together, that their skills go hand in hand to create something truly marvellous. Kelly Hoppen MBE, in conjunction with naval architect Bill Dixon, have formed a truly exciting partnership, and created the stylish design of the Pearl 65 yacht. The name Kelly Hoppen is synonymous for exquisite interior projects, due to the distinct and unprecedented style of her firm. With numerous awards and accolades to her name, it comes as no surprise that a project such as this, would be welcomed into Kelly's portfolio of already outstanding work. Combing all the creature comforts, and the latest and great interior design trends, the Pearl 65 is truly like nothing we've seen before. Take a look…
Building upon the success of the Pearl 75 yacht, built in 2013, receiving awards such as
The Best Motor Yacht under 25 metres, at the 2013 International Yacht and Aviation Awards. The response was overwhelming, and therefore, it is only fitting that Iain Smallridge, managing director of Pearl Motor Yacht’s, would want to further build upon this collaboration and success. In this image, we see the exterior shell. Modern and sleek in its design, this beautiful piece of marine machinery looks stunning against its environment.
We begin our journey inside in the living room. With a muted, yet elegant colour palette, you are invited to relax, recline and enjoy your surroundings in style. As with everything, of course, the design is in the details. Drawing inspiration from her countless interior design projects, Kelly Hoppen has given this space a homely touch, with delicate accents of silver and white from the vases and floral arrangements. On the kitchen counter, we see the
Luna vases, and behind the sofa, the chic
Rounded Bulb Pots.
From another angle, just a few steps up from the previous image, we see the living room from behind the captain's chair. Again, with a serene ambience, occupants are invited to lounge about, engage in conversation and perhaps even watch some TV or a movie. After all, a long day out in the sun and swimming can be exhausting. Again, the finer elements in this space have had the elegant touch of Kelly Hoppen applied. Here, we can see a quintuplet set of white pots, which add a spot of greenery and life to the space.
Now, we enter the Master Bedroom suite. A soft mix of material textures and colours can be seen here, creating an aura of peace and tranquillity. Kelly Hoppen was responsible for the taupe faux leather trimming on the bed, Venetian blinds, art work, and delicate arrangement of vases. On top of this bedroom, there is another guest suite, two bathrooms and a double bedroom that you will see below.
This double room has been custom made by Pearl Yachts, with Kelly Hoppen's faux leather trimmings adorning the side of the beds. Again, a theme is apparent in this interior design project, with lavish materials in muted hues, coming together to form an elegant and exclusive space. Grey and white have always been two colours which suit each other perfectly, and they have again been used to great effect here.
Lastly, but definitely not least, we see the inside of one of the minimalist bathrooms. Small, yet not in the least bit cramped, this bathroom oozes contemporary style and modernism. Shades of white and grey are apparent again, but this time broken up by the warmth of the timber cabinetry. The elongated mirror is broken up by a tap and two handles, jutting their modern appearance out from against the reflective surface. These wonderful chrome elements are the work of Kelly Hoppen for Waterfront Bathrooms. And if that weren't enough, take a look inside the shower. There too, is a cascading shower head that is sure to refresh and renew your body and mind after a busy day on the water.
We hope you have enjoyed this short, albeit fascinating tour inside the Pearl 65 yacht. Perhaps you have taken away some interior decorating inspiration of your own, or are ready to book summer vacation!
