The designer hotel W, in Barcelona, has for some time been a hot location, for tourists and locals alike, to soak up the sun and admire some rather astounding views, whilst sat in the moderate comfort and luxury of this hotel’s renowned design. Located directly on the beach of the Catalan capital, with a view of the sea and the distant cityscape, it doesn't surprise that restaurant Salt is such an attraction for eating, drinking and relaxing in general.

The hotel grounds cover a 900m2 area, of which the restaurant only occupies a small amount. But the features and charming design of this restaurant, and its location, merge very much; allowing guests to enjoy the surroundings. A restaurant worth its weight in salt.

Restaurant terrace

The ocean front terrace can accommodate about 100 guests, including 30 comfortable armchairs in the chill-out area. In addition to the stylized ambience and sensational views, you can enjoy with the hottest cocktails and a Californian/Mediterranean fusion inspired menu. Not a bad place to spend the evening!

Restaurant interior

The design concept of the restaurant uses gold, sand and turquoise shades; as in the lobby of the W Hotel, which is based on the reflections and textures of the ocean, beach and sea. Thanks to the flowing curtains, the clever lighting system and the mirrored ceiling, we get a feel of the sparkling surface of the sea, which begins just a few steps away.

Restaurant lighting

The lighting in restaurant SALT significantly contributes to the special atmosphere and the remarkably chic location. The stripe, cloud and wreath arranged LED spotlighting highlights specific areas around the seating and dining areas; making it intimate but not overbearing.

Restaurant design

The materials, coverings and furniture in the restaurant are perfectly matched to the dynamic and creative design concept. Between the hardwood, brass, iron and glass you can discover a lot of eye catching details. Also thanks to the different, skilfully used, textures you get a feel as if you were dining in a magical water themed world.

Cityscape—city escape

Over all, we're left with quite an impression of a themed restaurant that offers a remarkable visual and atmospheric experience. Great work from the guys at Isabel Lopez Vilalta Asociados and not a bad place to relax after work.
