Putting it in focus—Opticians shop design

Welcome to the opticians! A commercial space all about style, precision and design: this is the place one can find anything from the coolest shades to the most hipster specks. But what about the style of the shop itself? We often overlook what's gone into the design of the shop and concentrate more on just what it's displaying. Indeed, there is something to be said for the things that display our items we use solely to enhance the display of the world for; and it only seems fitting that the display should be presented just as stylishly! This is also the design philosophy for our featured architects today, LABOR WELTENBAU ARCHITEKTUR,  let's take a look…

Lines, lines, lines!

At a first glance, we see horizontals guiding us right through the opticians, broken up by alcoves, minimalist furniture and open spaces. The precision of the shop design is fitting to the nature of the spectacles that sit on the shelves, in that, like watches, the design is very much precision based.

Space age décor

Fitting nicely in with our clean and  minimalist design, is an element of the space age; a time of mystery and excitement -kind of like buying glasses but without the mystery… Powerful contrast in shades break up the design, keen lighting highlights it all spectacularly and the polished concrete walls are a great backdrop to such a daring design.

Waiting room with a difference

Could you imagine a more interesting scenario to wait for an eye tested in? It even offers a great area for bored children to play in as well as being a unique and bizarre feature; a giant, cushioned jigsaw piece would certainly have kept most of us entertained when we were young.

Consultation with the stars

Again, another area that provides a very interesting setting to somewhere that is often rather plain and can even be boring. Powerful and loud furniture assembly against the purist of whites, the intensity of the red even causes light metamerism on the walls behind!

Anglepoise chandelier

A spectacular centre piece to add to, and the icing on the proverbial cake of, this shop design. Angles and highlights throughout!
