What comes to mind when you hear the word garden ? There are those who think of barbecues with friends, relaxation, having a romantic dinner by candlelight accompanied by the chirping of crickets, the first rays of the sun or the trees in bloom. Often the garden is the small paradise of the home, the corner where you can rest your mind by listening to what nature has to say. Today we want to show seven different green spaces and perhaps advise how to make your own magical little land, whether it be large or small. While you create the garden you should always take account of the ‘object’; which is the first detail that catches your eye. In a garden of modest dimensions, there should never be more than one focal point, or it may create disorder. The plants chosen and balanced, concerned of shape and fittingly coloured. Using shrubs and ground level plants will create an optical effect that will increase the size of the garden.

A house in the sun

In this garden the focal point is the pool. Well accompanied by plants and an amiable layout of stone and trees, the set has a good look because everything is in the right position. To create your perfect garden, we always recommend that you contact a homify landscape architect or gardener, who can advise you where to plant begonias rather than hedges. Moreover, in addition to the lawn and plants, it is always recommended to choose the right furniture and you can choose from a wide variety of materials depending on your preferences. In this case, the home owners opted for an outdoor lounge by the pool, sheltered from the sun.

The gazebo

In the garden it’s always good to create a space for eating, from breakfast to dinner. When temperatures and weather permit it, it’s always a pleasure to eat your meal in the middle of nature, between the chirping of birds and the sound of crickets. If you do not have a porch, you can always build a gazebo . As always, remember the colours used: the furniture will always be in tune with your garden, here you can see that the main protagonist is wood -who makes the setting very romantic.

House by the pool

In this photo we can see that the table has been placed near the entrance of the house. Having a swimming pool is a privilege of a few, but who has one will always choose a strategic location, easily accessible from the house and of complete relaxation. If the ground is sloped around your desired area, you don’t have to worry about it because you can always bring down the plot level! However, always ask for advice from an expert on which you rely.

Garden in the north!

We are located in Northern Europe now, and we can recognize the place due to the sloping roof of the house behind. We know that the more you go north, the more cold is it is, even in summer. In this garden you can walk between the nature contemplating the landscape; a touch that will distract from the colder feel of the later months of the year.

Waterfall

In this garden we note that the focal point is the stretch of water. A small artificial waterfall can accompany your meals at the poolside, teaming with the playful sound of water. At the side of the pond, the lawn is kept: the grass is cut very low to keep the order created by the few plants of medium size.

Pond

The water in the garden must not necessarily be a swimming pool. If you are lucky enough to have bought a house which already has a pond, try your best to make it an integral part of your garden. Let’s remember that there are aquatic plants and we can beautify the water: water lilies or lotus flowers and marsh plants tend to have vivid colours and have put in a bio-pond cleansing powers. Furniture can be chosen to blend with the surrounding environment and why not build a small gazebo in which to enjoy the spring breeze?

Cottage

More than just a garden, we’re talking about a park! Despite its large size, those who live in this house in the country have decided not to build a swimming pool. Many people think that the cost of the pool is limited to only construction of the reservoir, who’s to say if they’re right or wrong. A swimming pool needs constant maintenance throughout the year though, which is why there are people who choose not to have one. A garden can still be a little paradise even without a body of water. In this case it was used on the porch of the villa and was placed in a hammock in the shade of two large trees.
