This week it's all about lighting up your home! Exterior lighting can make your abode into a singular work of art, if done correctly. Think about all the times you've seen a house, far off in the distance, engulfed in attractive lighting and thought just how great it looked or even how much you'd like to be there; if it were a run down shack with a floodlight on the wall, you might think differently.

So, today we're going to look at some great examples of exterior lightning portfolio here at homify and one or two interior ideas too. Enjoy…

Lighting for large houses

Landmark Home On Elevated Coastal Site With Panoramic Views

Des Ewing Residential Architects

In this new, classic designed stately home design, from Des Erwing architects, we see the lighting showcasing the mystery of the interior, adding glowing squares of gold around the exterior of the house and displaying it with all the beauty of the light produced by a concealed fire. In other words, think of how welcoming and friendly this place looks; wouldn't you want to step into the warmth of the house?

Lighting for wooden houses

If there were two material types that shared a metaphorical womb, it would, most likely, be glass and wood -what a harmony. The intensification of the light, coming from the interior of a house, through the glass of a window is always very complimentary to the tones of natural wooden surfaces (just like in the picture above) and even, a lot of the time, with stained wooden colours too.

Multi level lighting

It doesn't really matter about the style of theme or your house design, lighting can always follow its own path, and on a variety of levels. Take this low level swimming pool lighting here, it adds a great deal of appeal to this scene, extending the reach of the home further and with grace.

Kitchen lighting

More great work, from one of our finest British projects, here at homify; by Gregory Phillips architects. This modern expansion onto a detached Victorian house is the setting for out lighting genius, and what a singular look they've achieved here!

House by moonlight

If your house is exposed to a lot of surrounding water or open scenery, then perhaps the moonlight could be enough to set your lighting affairs in order. The light from the lake by this house is enough to make the place look great; without additional lighting.

The master of lighting

This professional was recently discovered, here at homify, and we wanted to show you some of his great work! The company is, London based, Future Light Design, and this is just one of the amazing design incorporations they've got on their profile.
