Have you ever been invited to dinner at a friends house and then come back, say, for breakfast the following day and thought to yourself how different the space looks? How many occasions did you think you were in a completely different place all together? This is simply because light is a huge determining factor in regards to the perception of our environment. Obviously, an important factor is day and night, but the same questions still remain; what type of light to use, in what position, and above all, what intensity?

Today we will talk about lighting. In particular, focusing on the materials which illuminate our spaces; those that are a fusion between craft and art work. If you think that creativity can only be found  in particular combinations of furnishings, or just with the use of bright colours for walls, you are gravely mistaken, or at least underestimate the ability of light and shadows. Have a look at these luminous creatures that are shaped by the hands of our experts.. They truly come to life whenever the switch is set to ON!

A Forest of Lights

Are you ready to enter into this forest of lights? This type of lighting was born, and is presented as if it were situated in dense vegetation; in a lush and natural setting. The outside of the lamps appear to be paper thin, almost giving the impression of being DIY. The light coming from within this lamp is warm, soft and harmonising; ideal for creating a peaceful atmosphere during the evening.

Colour Bomb

Colour and creativity go hand in hand here. This solution completely steals the show. Large glass spheres of different shades form large bulbs which in the end, form a single and bright object that is ideal for a large room. Suspended from the ceiling like a carousel, this chandelier reminds us that life is a game and to decorate with frivolity and fun.

From Above

Illuminating a staircase is not always easy. So, what to do? From the ceiling of the upper floor in this image, drops a chandelier wrapped by the long and winding flight of stairs. Once again, the spherical shape proves suitable for its purpose and acts as an incredibly attractive and artistic object from an aesthetic point of view.

Rain Down Light

The rain always inspires us; hearing the pitter-patter of water droplets on the roof when you are rugged up inside somehow always evokes emotions. In this instance, cut glass with careful processing becomes an art object to illuminate the foyer of a stylish home. Little would you know, the glass of this sculpture is actually recycled—made from the waste products of glass factories.

Crystal Marvels

The form in question is a curious creature inspired by the sea, a kind of jellyfish like piece. This particular light fitting is a pure manifestation of art, beauty and sculpture.

Lightning Strike

Short of ideas? Us? Never. Although, it is difficult to explain this particular type of lighting in words. The wall has been designed with these artistic cracks that let the light shine through in the shape of a lightning bolt. This solution is ideal for mood and ambience, it is not typically designed to be used as the primary source of light. A great talking point and an exciting way to fill an empty space.

Fairy Tales

Bring your garden to life with this flutter of glass butterfly silhouettes. Creating a poetry of colours, you can bring your childhood fantasies back into fruition.

Edible Atmosphere

And just when you thought you had seen it all, comes this 'puff' of a surprise! A typical Neapolitan pastry called a 'Sfogliatelle', for the first time in its existence turns from a light pastry filled with ricotta cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla and eggs, into a source of illumination. Inspire a creative solution at the table, even without food.
