The property we are privileged to tour through today is located in Enfield, North London and has undergone extensive remodelling. The original floor plan of the detached property has doubled in size, extended on the side, rear and into the roof.
Alongside a score of environmentally-friendly additions, such as solar thermal and photovoltaic panels and a rainwater harvesting system, the property now boasts six bedrooms and a score of surprises at the newly renovated rear of the property. On top of this, there is a Control4 home automation system that controls lighting, security, climate control and multi-room audio.
We won't give away too much before we start so without further ado, let's take a tour and see the extent of how this home has been transformed by the talented architects at Bradley Van Der Straeten.

The exterior of home is perfectly placed amongst its settings, hiding a score of modern secrets behind its traditional brick façade.
The outside has received a facelift, making it look fresh and updated. The stark white render and red brick create a wonderful contrast, highlighting different features on the exterior.
The new, modern kitchen is sleek and functional, organised around a central kitchen island bench. Two bar stools have been positioned at the rear of the island, which are great for having a quick tea, coffee or bite to eat before the occupants rush out the door.
Loaded with practical storage space, the colour palette of the kitchen is light and muted, radiating all the available natural light into every nook and corner.
The open plan living, dining and kitchen area can be fully realised from this angle, with a glossy black grand piano placed in the middle as the central focus.
We love how the ceiling is lined with recessed downlights as it gives the ceiling a sparkle almost like the night sky. The fully retractable doors create a stunning juxtaposition, blurring the line between inside and out. You can just imagine how great this space would be to entertain.
The first of the outdoor surprises begins here, on the timber deck. The rear extension can be viewed in full from this angle and you can see just how well it blends in with the existing façade of the original property.
Given that this is a home already filled with modern creature comforts, the occupants can now enjoy their newly renovated garden to the maximum, from the comfort of a warm, steamy hot tub!
Stepping out from the deck and further into the outdoors, we see an intricately landscaped garden. The circular shape is not only visually pleasing but creates definition and hierarchy between the various elements of the garden.
The stone garden path extends around the circumference of the circular patch of grass, bordered by shrubs and a set of square wooden arches. These arches cleverly lead towards yet another stellar surprise at the back…
Last but definitely not least we can see inside the indoor pool and gym room. With a view of the rear of the home and manicured gardens, it's possible for the occupants to keep their fitness levels prime whatever the weather considering the pool is not outside exposed to the elements.
Water is known for its healing and therapeutic benefits so when you have access to a pool within the confines of your own property, it is only fitting that you'd want to be able to use it all year round.
