There are a few items that we think any interior designer would agree you should have in your home, by your 30th birthday, and we're going to tell you what they are, right now! You want your house to be a home, but also a reflection of your maturity and development, so wouldn't it be great to have a prescriptive list of things that will absolutely demonstrate them both? Your bedroom needs to be a cosy sanctuary, but it also needs to be home to a good, solid and supportive bed. Forget flatpack furniture and flimsy items and think about investing in a solid wood version that will stand the test of time and be the focal point of the room.

We know that there was a time when a pack of antibacterial surface wipes were all you needed to carry out your cleaning routine, but as you get older, you know you need a well-stocked caddy of specific sprays and cloths! Not only that, you also need a multi-purpose tool kit as well!
If for no other reason, you should always have a little money in your home so that you can pay any fast food delivery drivers that come to the door! You really don't ever know when you'll need a little stash of cash, so even if you can't afford to keep it in a safe, a little piggy bank will work just as well!
You know the saying 'buy cheap, buy twice' isn't just an old housewife's tale, right? It definitely applies to bed linen as well, so instead of having 20 different sets of cheap bedding, how about investing in just a few, with a higher thread count and a silkier feel? Go on, you're 30 now, so you deserve the finer things in life!
