Today, we want to give you some tips on how to decorate your house in a tropical style, including furniture and objects that recall the atmosphere of distant places, that not everyone has visited, but most know.

A critical first step to bring the tropics to your home is to illuminate the rooms with colour, avoiding plush materials and cool shades. Instead, preferring warm tones, such as yellow or orange, which work perfectly together. Think about white curtains in cotton wool which allow light to filter through, and immediately discard the idea of furniture made of plastic or synthetic, using instead, pieces made from ecological or natural materials such as rattan and bamboo. With all this in place, our minds will recall easily to the tropical beaches you see in documentaries.

Tropical recall

Not everyone is fond of African animal skins being used as rugs. Nevertheless, a synthetic option can be a beautiful item if you want to bring a feel of the exotic into your home. In this living room, the plant which ties in with the colour of sofa, brings the mind directly to the turquoise waters of the tropics.

Warm colours

This picture shows how a yellow sponge effect on white walls is a great idea to brighten up a room. With the inclusion of wall decorations that remind countries of the tropics and the right furniture, you will be able to easily obtain the desired result.

A forest at home

If you don't have a green thumb and find it difficult to keep up with growing plants, why not give colour to the environment with a wallpaper design like this? In order to control the green from looking to monotonous, you should add additional bright colours to the space to liven it up. We understand that you will not find the sheep in the tropics, but a little fantasy never hurts!

In the tropics

Ferns, frangipanis and screens are reminiscent of Bali and south east Asia. When you view this photo, it is impossible not to think about the fact the air will smell of a mixture of salty air and sweet incense burning. Using yellow as a base and adding accents of red, blue and orange, are really the perfect way to design in the tropical style. As you can see here, this space which is for commercial use, can easily transcend into someones dining or lounge room.

The bathroom

For those who love the plants to the point of not being able to do without even in the bathroom, here's the perfect setting. Closing your eyes whilst in the shower, with the humidity and the smell of the plants, you will surely feel like you are momentarily transported to a far away place.
