When you think of a wharf, what usually comes to mind? The salty air, the sound of the waves crashing, the cool evening breeze? What was once an industrial hub for boats and shipping yards, has become an area of prime real estate with rising house prices and impressive façades. The interior design project you are about to see has been masterfully created by Increation, a firm that is committed to listening closely to the needs of their clients and executing a final result that is beyond expectations. What is the obvious colour choice when you want to recreate a seaside or maritime feel into a home? Blue, of course! This wonderful medium blue splash back simply radiates in the kitchen. It is a wonderfully modern, yet serene touch to a largely white space. Even the shapes provided by the curve of the ceiling and the beautiful wooden kitchen island, fool us into believing that we could be on a boat out at sea.
The exposed brick wall to the left has been masterfully framed by the white bookcase and cornice. This allows the occupants to retain a glimpse of the past life of the building, which is always a special feature when you are renovating an existing space. The bookcase is an stellar idea, not only in the sense that it provides extra storage, but is also provides an area to show off to guests and visitors, your collection of trinkets from loved ones and travels.
A darker tone of blue is seen on the back wall of the main bedroom. With a whimsical and feminine presence, this space still retains a touch of the sea with the chosen colour palette. Reminiscent of a beach house or holiday home, the textures, patterns and tones employed in this room are charming and complementary to one another. Serenity and peace are two words which come to mind when this space is viewed. In our opinion, they are exactly the way a bedroom should be described.
As children grow, so do their needs. It is essential that a bedroom matures with these changes. A cupboard that is easy to keep organised and that has lots of storage space, is perfect for the ever-changing interests and lifestyle of kids. If you look to the bed, you can see that it has the possibility to be converted into a double, via the slide out mattress in blue underneath. For the time being, it can be used as a single and in the event a friend comes to stay, there is an extra bed at the ready!
No beautiful home would be complete without an equally as beautiful bathroom. A delight for any lover of minimalism and modernism, this is the perfect space to switch off and relax after a busy day. The matte black tiles, with their subtle, yet mesmerising texture, contrast exceptionally against the stark white bathtub and contemporary bathroom fixtures.
This article would not be complete without a glimpse of the available view of Canary Wharf.
