We are about to get colourful, cheerful, and lively here at homify as we travel to the wonderful city of Lisbon in Portugal to view the fantastic interior decorating style of the interior design team Espaço Minimo. This exclusive project was designed for a young family with a great sense for aesthetic and modern trends.

Since 2005, these architects have successfully designed a multitude of homes that showcase an innovative mix of design and function, which not only brings character to their impressive projects, but also a certain timelessness.

Well, we don't want to keep you in suspense any longer. Let's see what this artistic family-friendly apartment has to offer!

Corridor with zig-zag patern

Normally, such a large and in-your-face zig-zag wall pattern would be overwhelming and out of place, but in this home, it fits right in.

This hallway is young, exciting, and fresh. It grants this apartment an inspiring aesthetic, and with it generous curiosity. In opposition to the busy wall we have a plain, reserved white wall, lightly decorated with black and white photographs. This keeps the hallway from being too loud.

Communication through colour

We're starting off our tour in the living room, which presents itself openly and displays an interesting amalgamation of colours.

With bold cerulean blue paired with an enticing pink and purple area rug, this room makes a daring statement, and the wall art and multicoloured throw pillows grant this space unyielding comfort.

Retro outfitting

Spectacle arises in this mud room, and you better believe it's on no small scale. This retro wall unit communicates chic urbanity and definitive function.

The mix and match style of this unit adds a little bit of drama and individual character to the home, and you can bet there's no other shelving system quite like it anywhere else. We think it goes great with the checkerboard parquet flooring, too.

Small and practical

The fully-equipped kitchen is utterly and truly place of wonder. Above all else, functionality is the key to a successful kitchen, with everything you need just an arm's reach away.

This kitchen certainly meets that criteria. The puristic design was broken up by use of the mosaic tile flooring, which imparts a playful flair upon the  space.

Creativity in the office

Even in the office, we find remarkable artwork and decoration. In a space that is dedicated to the daily grind, the addition of artwork in the work place is often under-estimated. Artwork can alter moods and it contributes to an overall increase in efficiency, productivity, and creativity, so these designers knew exactly what they were doing when creating this space.

Adjacent to this lovely office is the master bedroom, which we will explore next.

Sound sleeping

In contrast to what we've seen in the other rooms of the home, this master bedroom is relatively quiet in decoration and colour.

The light blue walls promote a sense of peace and tranquility, in accordance with colour therapy.

Around the world

The last stop on our tour brings us to one of the children's bedrooms. The world map was recreated on this wall, plastered above a light blue wall serving as the ocean. This mural inspires world travel for young and budding globe-trotters.
