The Old Bond Store Apartments, Balcony In Ex Design Industrial style houses

Working on the Old Bond Store Warehouse at Exeter Quay was a real privilege. Such a prominent and historic building required a special touch. After years of standing empty since its heyday as a notorious nightclub, the building had fallen into total disrepair. St Austell Brewery bought the building and set about converting the downstairs into an impressive smoke and ale house – The Samuel Jones – and the upstairs into residential units. This is where we came in! We were asked to develop plans for six amazing loft apartments with fantastic views of the historic quayside. Working with the building, we sought to save and enhance many of the original features, which resulted in spaces with an abundance of character. The units are a mix of three- and two-bed apartments. Some living spaces have great mezzanine levels and most rooms benefit from double-height spaces and exposed trusses. With such an insightful client this project was a joy to be involved in.
