this residential housing is situated in milano marittima centre – surrounded by pine-woods – few steps from the sea. the building, a simple rectangle, is divided into eleven apartments situated on two different levels, following a terraced house typology. smaller flats (68 m2) are situated at ground floor crossing a private garden: they are composed by a living area, two bedrooms, bathroom and lodges for relax and meals. at first floor there are the bigger apartments (68+68 m2) with flat roof hosting a solarium, reachable by an interior stairway. a perimeter balcony offers large spaces on both fronts for outdoor life; privacy and shading are increased using swing panels (made of white steel and iroko wood) situated on the external perimeter. these panels have also the function of providing rhythm to the building. solariums offer a great view on milano marittima pine-woods,; they are equipped with jacuzzis and outdoor kitchens. a white steel pergola integrates a shading system.
