The Santiago collection, Liam Treanor Liam Treanor

Liam Treanor returns to Designjunction with his brand new Santiago Collection. Treanor’s third range is largely inspired by his love of modernist architecture and what he calls the ‘soft aesthetic’.

The collection includes the Affonso stool, Ando tall stool, Lina desk, Louis candlesticks and the Paulo coffee table. Following on from the successful Debut and Interbau Collections, Treanor has taken a new approach to balancing soothing curves with clean lines and crisp edges, whilst staying true to his core design beliefs.

The turned legs of Santiago products have been inspired by traditional cabriole legs but with an updated, modern twist. The elegance and softness of the turned components are calmingly juxtaposed with simple crisp solid wood surfaces.

The new collection displays exceptional levels of craftsmanship and great attention to detail. Handcrafted from ash or oak, the Lina Desk features gracefully angled tapering legs that enhance its visually lightweight aesthetic. Its slender appearance is complimented by a sensitively shaped drawer which is suspended from the surface.

The three legged Affonso Stool and Ando Tall Stool offer a refined aesthetic with beautiful wedged tenon details left exposed on the surface. These understated pieces sit pleasingly in a room without being obtrusive, the Affonso Stool also works well as a side table. Liam Treanor believes that the quality of the craftsmanship should be honest and allowed to speak for itself. The stools also have an upholstered seat panel option, available in various colours. The Ando Tall Stool is available in two heights.

The charmingly modest Paulo Coffee Table features turned legs which join into the well proportioned surface. All Liam Treanor products are defined by a well-considered design approach, from being functional and hardwearing and efficient to manufacture and ship. For ease of movement into and around the house, larger products in the range, such as the Paulo and Lina, have twist in legs making for straightforward and sturdy assembly.

The simple yet striking form of the Louis Candlestick is intended to visually extend the tapering lines of the candle it holds, whilst reflecting the mildly extravagant forms of the range. The Louis Candlesticks are available in three heights. An individual candlestick makes a strong minimalist statement or a set of three can be arranged in cluster of differing heights to provide an attractive focal point on a table.
