The conversion of a Grade II listed former Congregational chapel in Castlefield, Manchester, to office use for one of Manchester’s leading design agencies.
Accommodation is provided both within the existing building shell and within a new structure that rises through 3 storeys within the former nave of the church. The form has been deliberately manipulated to create a series of tightening and expanding voids that enrich its relationship with the surrounding building and provides a dramatic counterpoint to the historic interior.
