Overview

This side and rear extension project in Bordon involved the removal of two sides of the existing ground floor structural walls.  This created the wraparound extension the clients were after. The project comprised the opening up of the existing ground floor rooms to create open-plan kitchen and dining spaces that successfully link the new elements with the existing house.  Vaulted ceilings in the new extensions adds character to the living spaces, the reconfigured kitchen includes a kitchen island / breakfast bar and bi-folding doors provide garden views and additional light.  The main complexity of the project was in the removal of the structure on two side simultaneously and a carefully positioned new column ensures the space is as open-plan as possible.  The extensive opening created by the large set of bi-folding doors provide a great view of the garden and outdoor patio.  Multi-facing brick and single lap concrete roofing tiles were selected to complement the materials of the existing house.  The clients are thoroughly enjoyed the transformed space created by the extension and refurbishment of their house.
