This historic grade II listed house overlooking the Thames had previously been occupied as two residential units.  Separated from the main house by a walled garden is a former coach house.  The property also enjoys a private riverside garden with pontoon mooring.

Working closely with an Interior designer, lighting consultant and audio-visual specialist, GHK have sensitively restored the house as a single private residence incorporating every modern convenience.

Following consultation with the Conservation Officer, listed building consent was given for the removal of the service stair and rationalization of floor levels which allowed the layout of the house to be modified to suit modern lifestyles.  A large conservatory was added to the kitchen to provide a family dining area opening onto the walled garden

The house required extensive repairs which provided the opportunity to upgrade the thermal performance of the fabric including the provision of underfloor heating at basement and ground floor levels.

Balustrades were reinstated to the upper flight of the stairs following removal of the separating partitions and original paneling and cornices previously concealed by boarding were conserved and restored.

Externally the walled garden was re-landscaped to incorporate a lap pool and outside dining area set below a new pergola supporting an ancient wisteria which was retained.

The coach-house was completely rebuilt in a contemporary idiom to provide two guest bedrooms plus showers and changing facilities for the pool.
