This roof terrace is situated on the top of a new penthouse apartment in a converted grade 2 listed office building in the heart of London’s West End.
The scheme uses high quality materials such as natural York stone and pre-patinated zinc planters, as well as incorporating a hot-tub and outdoor kitchen/dumb waiter.
The project was made more difficult because loading issues meant that we were restricted in where we could place planters, and also because there were strict guidelines as to how much could be seen from ground level.
The purchaser has since added outdoor TV screens and speakers. Despite this ‘bling factor’, the design is restrained and elegant, with a carefully restricted plant palette and range of colours.
