New project

Strata architecture is a leading architecture practice founded by Pierre-André Bohnet and Diana Stiles in 1994 after having gained working experience in several different internationally renowned architectural offices. The name “strata” represents the diversity of design work which the office addresses from objects, interiors and buildings, to landscapes and cities.

The combination of Swiss and New Zealand backgrounds has lead to the production of dynamic and challenging projects at different scales. Along with a number of talented collaborators the practice assumes the totality of services required to develop projects from the conceptual design through to their realisation. Strata’s design philosophy is based on the innovative use of materials and colours and the research of new and exciting compositions of forms and spaces.

The practice has received a number of prizes including first prize in the international competition for the redevelopment of the Pheasantry of Prague Castle and first prize for the SOVALP urban development project for the Swiss railways in Geneva. These projects amongst others have been approached with a sensitive understanding of the historical and environmental context and how these can be interpreted and transformed into the contemporary landscape or cityscape.

Strata architecture has a long experience of collaborating in pluridisciplinary groups with artists, landscape architects and engineers.

The office is currently composed of 12 highly engaged collaborators with specialities in computer produced drawings, models, production of tender documents, cost control and site supervision.

Today we have amongst our clients Swisscom, Unilabs, Swiss Post Office, Serono, Addex, CFF Swiss railways, The Geneva Canton and City and several communes.
