Fleming & Howland was truly a great find for me. I ordered their "Captains Chair" and it met and exceeded all of my expectations for beauty and comfort. I hope to return to them again for another one of their wonderful creations.

Dealing with this company was an absolute pleasure! Their commitment to excellence was evident in everything from their marketing materials to the finished product, and their customer support manager went out of his way to ensure that my sofa arrived well ahead of our harsh Rocky Mountain winter weather. The quality of their workmanship is superb, and I'm very impressed with both the company and its product. Thank you for such a rewarding experience.

Production went faster than expected. The full amount should then be transferred - said and done. I've been waiting for the goods for four weeks now. There are no agreements on the shipping side, the delivery date is dictated. In addition, the shipping company is difficult to reach and when someone is reached, communication is difficult because the shipping company is based in France and can hardly speak English. Flemming and Howland makes promises about feedback, but does not keep them. There has not yet been any accommodation for the inconvenience caused. All the hassle takes away the anticipation of the product you want. This is not what you would expect from a company that operates in the high-price segment.

Omg!! After our sofa broke down for the 2nd time. We searched and found Fleming and Howland the gold standard for Chesterfield sofas since 1780 we picked everything we wanted on their website. Once submitted, William the rep who assisted us, mailed fabric samples and catologs of everything they make and how they're made. It's rare to find craftmenship this good now adays but they do exist. William made sure every detail of our sofa was completed. Once this was done a deposit is taken. The sofa arrived, white glove. And it's breathtakingly stunning! Everything about this experience was first class. Thank you Will and Fleming and Howland for everything. I'm over the moon. All the best, Jennifer Pasquini

Our couches took over six months from order to deliver- they arrived almost month after the far end of the expected delivery window. Once shipped, we could not get in touch with the delivery agent for three weeks of calling or emailing until i was able to make contact via Facebook. While the service agents for Fleming & Howland were sympathetic they were not very helpful. When the couches finally arrived the velvet was crushed in several places. When I informed the service team I was informed that it was normal and that I should monitor in hopes it smooths away. The leather couch was in very good condition however. If one is going to spend this kind of money on a couch, I recommend another company which whom to do business. For this price I expected much better service and at least attempt to make amends for the delivery debacle and damages on their product.

Discovered this company via Google search (of course) and delighted to discover they deliver internationally (which must be complex in this crazy post Brexit world). From first contact to final delivery the service, advice, patience (!) were all impeccable. We ordered a sofa and footstool. They arrived this week after being made to order, which takes around 2-3 months, and we are absolutely delighted with the furniture. It was a large investment but for the quality it represents excellent value for money. I highly recommend this firm. We shall certainly use them again.

I ordered a Chesterfield couch, chair and an office chair. everything is just PERFECT, such a fine peace of handmade art! Worth every penny and i am so glad I did it. Communication was great as well, all in all just an awesome expierience.

Purchased a Stamford sleeper sofa and loveseat from Fleming & Howland. High quality furniture, custom crafted, clear they took their time to make this properly. The craftsmanship is superb, and the old world British design is as elegant as you'd expect. I would caution that these are made by hand in England, so you will have to wait a bit for your furniture to arrive. However I found them to be worth the wait.

Update as of 30.04: I promised to update the review if i receive the sofa. We did receive it on 27.04 and I would say i am in awe of the quality of product and hence anyone questioning quality of products is wrong. The price point Is justified. The sofa looks stunning and brings life to living room. However, the logistics process is not up to mark.... Instead of planning anything with customer, all we got is one date and that was after lot of emails from me to Fleming & Howland and from Fleming & Howland to Logistics company. We had to pay the driver himself to assist us in getting sofa inside because we could not have organized it on short notice. But sofa is awesome and i would like to thanks Fleming and Howland for keeping their promise on quality --------------------------------------------------------- I placed an order back on August 2022. It was scheduled to be finished/finalized/delivered by December 2022 - January 2023. However the manufacturing of sofa was finalized in March 2023 and one can believe that production can be delayed. We were told that delivery would be made soon and we will be contacted by delivery company to schedule a date. We have informed the company about our upcoming holiday time and all we keep on hearing is that delivery will be scheduled this week (i.e. in week of 24th). As of today, we have not been contacted by any delivery company and all we are wondering is will we even receive our sofa or are we getting duped of 7000 euros. For a company which is renowned for making luxury furniture since 1780, i am willing to accept delay in manufacturing but i am quite not able to understand the delays in their outbound delivery specifically when the manufacturing of the product is confirmed as well as payment have been made and that too when such a huge sum of money is involved. Just responding back to my emails (and that too when I called them and mentioned that no one is replying to my emails) and repeating the same message but no "action" also shows lack of professionalism. And question is should I be expecting some magic to happen in 4 working days. Would the Delivery company just call and inform us about their arrival without aligning anything about delivery? Are we expected to just sit at home and wait for delivery company to just contact us? I am not sure if we will get to the sofa or not (if i do, i will update my review) but one thing i can confirm is that i will think few times before i place next order :(

It is now well over a year since I received delivery of a number of pieces of furniture from Fleming & Howland. The damage to one piece of furniture was so severe and resulted in a protracted dispute with Fleming & Howland, who have been uncooperative and unresponsive. I have not received the repair package promised and when I decided that the furniture should be returned, Fleming & Howland assured me that arrangements would be made for its collection. 10 months have now passed and I still have the sofa in storage, at my expense, awaiting collection. Otherwise, Fleming & Howland do a thorough job in promoting the quality of their products: this is superficially good, but on close scrutiny is really not all that. There are better manufacturers for the money, as I have since discovered.

Addendum 1: Sofa and chairs still not received. It will be a full year on Sunday since I placed the order for a number of chairs and a sofa from Fleming & Howland. I have still not received the furniture. I have been in contact with Fleming & Howland regularly and I have received no fewer than 18 emails from them making excuses, first in relation to delays in manufacture and now in relation to delays in delivery. In good faith I paid a 50% deposit a year ago and the balance when I was informed the furniture was ready for delivery, which was promised for September / October last year. My complaints have been met with defensive responses from Fleming & Howland, and a complete lack of commitment to resolve the issues. If I receive the items in the next week I will update this review. When / if I finally receive the furniture I will write a review on the quality of the product.

I ordered a sofa from Fleming & Howland to be delivered to the States in July of 2021 and I have not received it yet. The couch has been in New York for over a month now, and Fleming & Howland keeps referring me to talk to the shipping company, who keeps insisting the couch is fine and "on its way." The original estimated delivery was Nov-Dec. I understand there were supply issues, but if the shipping company they work with doesn't want to spend the money to send it to me as soon as possible, they need to pay their shipping company more and they need to raise prices for customers. If they can't do this, they shouldn't be allowing U.S. customers to purchase items. I love their furniture designs, but their customer service is terrible. Don't purchase anything from them if you actually want to receive it. (I will remove this review if I receive my couch within a year of ordering it).

Beautiful sofas and appears to be of an excellent artisanship...However Fleming & Howland customer service is one of the very worst I have ever experienced! I ordered two four seaters and one seater (Stamford collection) on March 23 rd. 2021...Don't pay attention to the advertised 12 weeks...it took 20 weeks (and I was checking on a regular basis with them) for the furniture to arrive in NY port on August 10 th...Where one of their vendors Metropolitan Warehouse...was supposed to provide a White Glove delivery service to my home...F&H outdid themselves and they selected a terrible delivery service. I will pass the amount of time, frustration to deal with another incompetent organization...I could never get a straight answer for a delivery date. Then, finally on September 13 they delivered...two out of three sofas...they had lost the third one. And during all this time Fleming & Howland had nothing but a condescending "customer service" giving me a lip service and no support...I had to call daily and literally haunt the delivery service to finally get them to track and "find" the missing sofa which was delivered on Sept 24 th... So the bottom line was a 27 weeks or 6.5 months of frustration, no Fleming & Howland customer service support and a third class delivery vendor to get my 3 custom made sofas!! I have ordered in the past custom-made furniture in Italy and France...and I never had to go through this very frustrating experience. If you have the time, patience to manage the above, you will end up with some good-looking Chesterfield sofas...Time will tell if the quality of the furniture is superior to the sales and customer service. I originally intended to place several orders and decided to place first one order and see how it would go. I have, since, decided to change my approach and to look for another supplier. That is the only thing a customer can do when not happy, spend money somewhere else. M.A

Fleming & Howland has designed a magnificent sofa. The Philip Stanhope design is a spectacular work of art. Every detail in design and craftsmanship is what makes this a masterpiece.

So …. I waited 10 months - but the couches are gorgeous. The English craftsmanship and leather quality is outstanding. They are generational pieces - I hope all have them for the rest of my life.

The chair in the end is great. However, it took some time to get it there. The stain on the chair was shedding off in the beginning. However, they found someone in the US that fixed it and it it a wonderful chair now, as advertised. I give the company high marks (5 Stars) for staying with the chair stain issues until things were resolved properly. It is more challenging to fix things in America for an English company.

As real fan of Chesterfield sofas and chairs I was glad to finally place my order with Fleming & Howland. They not managed my expectations professionally but explained everything transparently and with great detail. As could be expected there were delays in delivery due to COVID however, they got back to me very quickly. I am hoping to place another order fairly soon and can't wait for the next product. Highly recommended 5/5.

I have been waiting almost 6 months for sofas which still not arrived. I was originally told to expect a 16-week completion date when making the order. I have just been informed of a further 2-3 week Delivery Delay. I have offered to arrange the collection via a local delivery company which is a 500 mile round trip for a very reasonable cost of £300. Fleming is only willing to cover £120 for Delivery which seems completely unreasonable considering the sofas are already 2 months overdue. I'm sure the sofa's will be great when they finally arrive, but their customer care/service is seriously lacking.

Thanks Fleming and Howland. We had our George Berkley sofa delivered just as we were coming out lockdown, and although it took a while to come because of the pandemic, the quality is out of this world and they clearly don’t take any short cuts. Your team also kept me posted every step of the way. Looks fab in our snug. Can’t wait to get our Captains Chair now!

My wife and I are extremely pleased with the service and quality of our 2 new chesterfields. We were welcomed safely into the factory and showroom under covid conditions and spent a long time going over our design specifications. We were able to choose everything and were not rushed or pushed into a decision. The service we received from them was above and beyond what we had expected and the final product looks wonderful I cannot thank them enough for what they made for us.

Our beautiful sofa has finally arrived! It is so gorgeous and makes our new drawing room look ten times more fantastic than it already was. Admittedly it did take a while to arrive due to the pandemic, but it was certainly worth the wait. It feels and looks so well built. Ours is a sofa bed, and while it looks classy and elegant, it feels like a tank of a piece of furniture. A proper unit! I am in love, thank you so much Fleming and Howland!

Visited showroom and was a very pleasant experience. Even got a tour of the factory. Kept informed of any delays due to Covid. The sofas are 100% brilliant and everything we expect. We have even used the cushion change guarantee which the cushions were changed no problem. The delivery process was second to none. The guys were very professional and knew what they were doing. We would not hesitate to recommend Fleming and Howland to anyone. Should we ever need another sofa we will be going back.

They were fantastically supportive throughout our dealings with them. And the quality of materials and workmanship met our every expectation! We ordered two custom "club" style chairs. The pictures on the website are wonderful and the chairs we received lived up to the photos! We are very pleased indeed.

We ordered a sofa from F&H after originally ordering a sofa from another company. On arrival the other sofa was made in China and clearly poor quality. The F&H sofa couldn't be more of a contrast. Fantastic quality, beautiful leather and a piece of furniture that you can tell will last forever. A really beautiful piece to own. The sofa was bought from their outlet section so only took a week to arrive. The delivery company used were excellent, keeping me well informed of delivery times etc. They then brought the sofa into the house and put the feet on for us. I would really recommend buying from F&H - you will get a quality product that is a thing of beauty!

I can’t even begin to praise Fleming & Holland enough for the amazing experience I had in ordering my sofa. It’s always a bit risky ordering an expensive item from a company one has never dealt with but it was the easiest and best purchase I’ve made all year. From the beginning of the transaction, the customer service rep was incredibly responsive and fully answered all of my endless questions. I was able to order several swatches and make a truly informed decision. The sofa took a bit longer than expected but given the Pandemic, and the constant updates, it was to be expected. Upon arrival, the chosen delivery company was prompt and professional. The finished sofa was even better than expected, the obvious quality and workmanship being top notch. I’ve seen less impressive pieces online for the same price or more so I feel I got an amazing value for a custom sofa. To top it all off, it was made in England.

My expereince with Fleming&Howland was extraordinary from A-Z. First Mr Paul Fleming advised me really very well and competent, especially with some bespoke furniture and helped me to get what I wanted. He also helped with the order. I always felt very comfortable although ordering far away from Switzerland. Then Mrs Sylvia Gray and Mr Jonathan Sheasby contacted me once the furniture was ready to deliver. Transport and delivery were organized very efficiently and everything went as well as could be expected. Today we are enjoying these well crafted and stunningly looking furniture - they're a dream - thanks to every single one at Fleming&Howland!

We were looking for a new suite and had decided on a traditional Chesterfield design, the only downside of this is that most appeared to be too large for our requirements. Whilst looking online, we discovered Fleming & Howland, the Chesterfield specialists, they were able to produce exactly what we were looking for and in the dimensions we needed. They kept us informed as to the progress and a few weeks later, our suite was delivered, we are delighted with the quality, which has surpassed our expectations. We would not hesitate going back to Fleming & Howland in the future.
