The Jamaican Ackee collection is inspired by the fruit of the Ackee tree which grew in my beautiful childhood family garden in Jamaica. The Ackee is the national fruit of Jamaica. The colours of the Ackee are of an orangey pink fading to red. When ripe, it opens to reveal creamy pods and glossy black seeds. A very attractive combination of colours which look, fresh and pretty on white bone china. The Ackee motif is taken from my botanical paintings inspired by memories of the exotic fruit and flowers grown in my Jamaican childhood garden. The collection includes dinner plate, salad plate, mug, demitasse cup and saucer, large square serving dish, pill box, small square bon bon dishes, large Liverpool Jug.
