This 3,200sf home was a new build design for our client’s weekend home in the forested Lake Michigan region in NE Indiana. As the site was dense woodland the client requested a rustic lodge type style to the home as is evident in the use of natural cedar siding coupled with log detailing. The standing seam aluminium roof and stone cladding further enhance the rustic feel. The house is two storey set atop a walk-out basement level providing additional living space and taking full advantage of the sloping site. An additional feature to the sloping site is a flowing man-made stream cascading down the slope into a pond feature. Outdoor stone patio areas are located at the top of the stream and the pond below.
Inside the house features 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, cloak room, open plan living/dining/kitchen area, den, recreation room and a large screened porch.
This rustic cottage style residence sits in dense woodland. A man-made stream, waterfall and water garden enhance the site.
