MAD ABOUT THE BOWL
An exhibition of paintings by Phil Capon
I found this bowl in a charity shop. It wasn’t a Ming; it wasn’t even touched by the hand of Grayson Perry. It was just a plain, old turquoise bowl.
But, there was something about it. Its shape, the way the light fell on its glaze. I began to use it in a series of paintings and started to fall under its spell.
It seems a bit crazy to become ‘Mad About The Bowl’, but ‘C’est la vie’!
