Sysonby Knoll is a 3 star, family-run hotel located on the outskirts of Melton Mowbray. It has recently undergone a major refurbishment of its ground floor public areas. The refurbishment started earlier in the year and is now complete. This has given the reception, the bar, coffee lounge, restaurant and small meeting room a new lease of life. The main part of the hotel remains in the original Edwardian country house, so the areas have been designed with this in mind. Debbie Warne the Interior Designer has chosen classic, calming fabrics and colours and transformed the rooms with some additional pieces of furniture. The owners Jenny and Gavin have also commissioned local artist Tim Fisher for five new paintings of the local and surrounding areas to be placed in the bar and coffee lounge. A regular guest commented “ It has been wonderful to see the transformation, the colours and patterns chosen have really given everywhere a fresher and brighter look”.
With the recent new fabrics in six bedrooms and transformation of one of the four poster bedrooms, this has been one of the biggest refurbishment programmes Sysonby Knoll has seen. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner to both residents and non residents. All guests are welcome any time to dine or to enjoy a coffee on the lawn, overlooking the beautiful landscaped gardens and the view over the River Eye.
