Brabham Residence (Australia)

Adorn Interior Design was approached by a young bachelor who wanted the two front rooms of his home to be redecorated. The house was a new build, but the rooms lacked character and function.

The first room stood empty, and the second was a cluttered office space with minimal functionality. The brief was to create a guest room/gaming room and a study that were young, vibrant and eclectic in nature.

The results were two redesigned functional spaces that used colour to inject personality and warmth into the rooms.

By painting the blue feature wall in this room, it allowed the viewer to experience the full height of the space. A modern tripod lamp was used to introduce more artificial lighting into the space. Texture and pattern were carefully considered to keep the space feeling young and exciting.

A photograph collage was used to balance the feature wall in this room. The photos were taken by the home owner during his travels to Africa and Asia. A futon was used in this room to provide maximum functionality as a sitting room/guest room.

A mustard coloured feature wall was used to take advantage of the vertical space in this room. A tradition rug was used to contrast the modern lines of the furniture.

Introducing an area to sit, read and soak up the sun was essential to ensure this room was as functional as it could be. Using a faux fur throw cushion allowed a slightly more rustic moment to occur in this space.
