The attractiveness of the flat is the 2 large terraces, one oriented to north – mountain, and another to south – sea, 32m2 and 67m2 respectively, both with spectacular views. Another appealing factor is the large amount of natural light, which we can control with different filters that alternate according to the need of the moment and the sun’s inclination, blinds with pivoting louvred slats, roller “screen” or awnings.
The distribution of the plan is U-shaped around an inner courtyard. The structure is based on bearing walls, which limits the distribution of the existing bedrooms. The first thing the two large terraces suggest us is the necessity to open the space that corresponds to the intermediate area: living area, at that moment very compartmentalized with partitions, so as when we visually join the 3 pieces we allow the views traverse from south to north and vice versa, integrating sea and mountain. This makes us the sensation of living in a villa in the middle of the Diagonal. Similarly we replace the small doors to the terraces for large glazing from floor to ceiling, allowing us this transparency. Thus we group the living room, dining room, hall and kitchen in a single continuous space, divisible with glass sliding doors.
