Horton undertook the refurbishment of a Luxury safari lodge situated in the Selous game reserve in Tanzania. The brief was for a fun eclectic interior reminiscent of an English gentlemen travelling through the continent, furnishings had to withstand the perils of the African environment which included all weather conditions and all manner of Wildlife! Horton had a short three month timescale to specify furnishings and to organise the logistics of shipment to Tanzania.
The safari lodge had stone built thatched cottages where guests could relax and unwind, so the interior reflected this with muted tones mixed with the vibrancy of Africa. These small stone cottages were to act as ‘suites’ opening up to the unrivalled views of the African bush where guests could unwind and relax. The open sided lounge and dining area situated in the middle of the camp boasted an open cocktail bar and billiards table in the middle of the African Bush, all this was within a sophisticated yet vibrant setting with a mix of pattern and colour to set the mood for guests unwinding after a day out on Safari.
The lower terraced area allowed guests to relax in the swimming pool overlooking the views of the Sealous game reserve or to sit on the deck to cool off. Beho Beho was created to give travellers the true essence of a Safari Refuge, for travellers who have been there and done that throughout the big game countries of Africa, combining the best of each Safari into one remarkable luxury experience.
