The project is a single storey extension to a detached brick built villa in Salisbury to enlarge a single room to make this more appropriately sized for the house as a whole.
The extension infills a corner between the front main part of the house and the rear “service” wing typical of many houses of this age. The existing room is opened up to the extension to full width and height with a new vertical window provided for both light and a view down the garden and a continuous strip of roof glazing both lights the enlarged room and provides borrowed light for the now internal Dining Room. The roof glazing is extended to form a canopy to the existing “back” door to the house.
