Tasked with creating an impactful cabinet for an exhibition centre in Kent, the DOVER cabinet began life as two desks and a 60's cabinet purchased at a local furniture recycling centre. By amending the cabinets, adding new handles and unifying them with a top and side cladding of reclaimed scaffold boards, a new, single 5m long cabinet was created. The pale blue paint is also an innovative recycled paint product from Newlife Paints, meaning that only the handles and fixings of the cabinet were actually purchased new—everything else had a previous life and was redesigned into the contemporary piece.
