The owner of this Formby home wanted to have two matching fused glass panels made for his entrance hall. Set in front of a purpose made recess, the panels were laminated and back lit with LEDs. This gives them the colourful look that you can see in the images.
When it came to the design of the artwork, the client wanted a mix of bold orange and other warm hues. We tied these together in a swirling mix that closely resembles a water current. The result is a beautiful, blazing orange glow that not only shines and demands attention from every guest, but also functions to illuminate the entrance around it. As you can see, the lighting effect works beautifully. You can really feel that the hallway panels tie the room together.
This shot of the glass allows you to see the splashbacks in closer detail, but also provides some insight into what guests might see when they come into the hallway. The natural light from the skylight will also make the splashbacks come to life during the day.
The lit panels serve to provide warm light to the hallway, overriding the neutral white floors and walls to bring something of a homely feel as soon as the client, or indeed, any visitors step in. These panels are the ultimate modern spin on hallway decoration!
