The project was to reconfigure a 1920s semi in Whalley Range. The downstairs bathroom was built to the rear of the property, blocking all views to the garden. The house had not been touched for decades. In the refurbishment, we moved the bathroom internally, still allowing access to the cellar, and reconnected the kitchen and dining room with the garden. Upstairs, we incorporated the wc back into the bathroom allowing the left over space to make a much bigger bedroom. The result was a contemporary interior, with loads of natural light, functional family spaces and we even kept some of the period detailing which made the house a home.
