The MOSI team came to us looking for a a complete shop fit out for their main museum shop. They were working with a very outdated setup and needed to inject some excitement into their commercial offering.
We went for a modern industrial feel which tied in with the ethos of the museum as well as their product lines. The design involved stripping back the lowered ceilings and exposing the bare bones of the building air treatment and electrical systems and all. We hung black powder coated cable tray as lighting rigs so we could get miniature stage par cans flexibly lighting the whole shop. To provide the flexible shop display we used a standard grid wall system but powder coated it matt black to striking effect. The rest of the furnishings were bespoke built using industrial finishes and methods with details such as laser cut patterns in sheet steel to add a rich texture across the build.
