Specialist jewellery retailer, Laurel, concentrates on selling handcrafted precious gemstone and natural pearl jewellery from China. When they wanted to open two new UK shops, they needed a creative agency to develop the brand and create an enticing look for the stores. They approached design CLD because of our knowledge of the jewellery sector. Our creative and practical approach quickly led to an an attractive and effective design solution. Using warm natural colours and lighting focused directly on the product we provided a backdrop that allowed the Jewellery to sell itself. The signage, promotional material and in-store graphics supported this by focusing on letting the customer know about the range of gemstones on offer. We dealt with all aspects of the shopfit, negotiating with landlords, obtaining building control approval, sourcing suppliers and cost management. Then, when the shop was opened, we advised on visual merchandising display by visiting the stores and setting out the product so that it was attractively presented, easy to see, handle and purchase. A simple investment which has paid dividends in increased sales.
